Nowhere else in Taranaki are students and teachers able to enjoy a predator-free wildlife sanctuary where the native forest is regenerating and animal populations are flourishing! Rotokare offers students a chance to appreciate what New Zealand may have been like before humans and mammalian pests arrived (check out Rotokare's biodiversity tabled in its animal and plant lists).

The Rotokare Scenic Reserve Trust offers a variety of environmental education programmes and supporting resource packs that provide a strong curriculum-linked, hands-on, and inspirational experience for early childhood through to senior secondary school students.
