Rotokare Welcomes another Royal Society Teaching Fellow

A few years ago we had Janet King from Mangorei School come and complete her science teacher fellowship at Rotokare.  Which was an amazing experience for both Janet as well as the Rotokare team, so when Julz Jameson a teacher from Rawhitiroa School asked to join us at Rotokare for the first two school terms this year, we were really excited to have her.

Royal Society Primary Science Teacher Fellowships aim to help develop primary teachers professionally to confidently take on leadership and responsibilities in science back in their schools.  They also gain awareness and a better understanding of the applications of science in the wider community.   Gaining insight into careers involving science to take back and share with their students.

Julz will be involved in all aspects of sanctuary operations, with a few specific scientific research objectives thrown in.  Including working with tree weta and lizards.
