Get Involved

Rotokare Scenic Reserve Trust is a charitable trust. The success of this wonderful project is due to all those who get involved and get stuck in, both in the past, the present, and the future. Whether it’s time or money - your help can contribute to the Reserve reaching aspirational conservation goals and bringing wildlife back to Taranaki.

Volunteer

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Rotokare. Join us to help maintain our beautiful reserve; as a nationally-significant project with a predator-free status, our story tells a rare achievement among our nationwide sanctuaries.

You can decide how much time you can contribute. You can help in the following ways:

  • Join our Facebook page; have your friends join it too

  • Become a Friend of the Lake (FoL) and receive newsletters and invites to special events

  • Raise funds by hosting your own event

  • Contribute regular or varying number of hours on any day (particular or set) of the week or month

  • No time for a prolonged commitment? Come help with one-off tasks or projects

We always have exciting one-off projects on the go, coupled with regular tasks. Some of the ongoing jobs we need help with our fence inspections and maintenance, tunnel monitoring, building maintenance, track maintenance, native tree planting, weed control, and guided walks for eco-tourism and the education programme.

Corporate Sponsorship

Rotokare Scenic Reserve is fortunate to have the support of corporate sponsors who generously contribute to our cause. Thanks to their incredible generosity, we are able to protect and preserve this special place in Taranaki. We are extremely proud of the many organizations that have partnered with Rotokare to build a better future for the reserve and its surrounding communities.

With corporate sponsorship, we have been able to restore and reintroduce native species to the region, repair walking tracks, fund vital jobs at the reserve and create educational programs for local schools.

If your company is looking for a way to give back to the community, supporting our project is a great way to get stuck in. Contact us for more information.
